Disabled Refuge
Disabled Refuge Systems (Emergency Voice Communication Systems) are required in all UK non-domestic multi-storey premises. They are essentially safe places where people who cannot easily use fire escapes and evacuation lifts are able to be safe and call for assistance in the event of an emergency. Two-way communication (Refuge system) in these areas is critical in protecting life in emergency situations. As well as assisting with the evacuation of disabled or mobility impaired people, they can also be used to enhance firefighters’ communication during an emergency.
As a disabled refuge system is not just for use during a fire, it must be fully functional at all times. It is essential these systems are checked regularly for functionality to ensure correct operation.
DPJ can supply, install and commission a Disabled Refuge System in your building and our team of multi skilled engineers can carry out maintenance and servicing as part of a competitive maintenance package, tailored for you.
