68 King William Street Fire Alarm - DPJ

An SMS SenTri4 network is protecting a completely refurbished mixed-use retail and office building opposite London Bridge

In the summer of 2019 we were approached to help design, install and commission a new fire alarm system in the old House of Fraser building at 68 King William Street, London EC4.

The brief required a fire alarm with an L1 design, manufactured by Honeywell. As the building has thirteen floors in total, consisting of mixed office and retail, we specified the Honeywell SMS SenTri4 4 loop panel with a total of 2 panels and a fully active network repeater.

Due to the nature of the building and the need for the SMS fire alarm to signal tenant fire alarm systems and control other third party systems, such as smoke extract fans, dampers, sprinklers, lighting controls, access control and lift interfaces, DPJ took the lead creating a cause and effects matrix to satisfy the building fire strategy and building control.

Installation work commenced in early 2020, with commissioning and handover in August 2020. DPJ has since secured the maintenance contract and is working closely with the landlord and tenants to provide additional fire and security systems.
